Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026 (draft)

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the More Than Gates customer portal, scheduling, estimating, and billing services (the "Services"), operated by More Than Gates ("MTG", "we", "us"). By creating a portal account, booking a visit, or accepting an estimate through the Services, you agree to these Terms.

1. What we do

MTG installs, repairs, and maintains automated gates, gate operators, access controls, and related equipment ("Gate Systems") at residential and commercial properties. The Services let you request service, view scheduled visits, approve or decline parts and pricing, view invoices, and manage your account online.

2. Scheduling and site access

When you book a visit, you're confirming a technician may access the property at the scheduled arrival window to diagnose or perform the described work. Arrival windows are estimates, not guarantees — traffic, prior jobs, and parts availability can shift them. We'll text or call if a window changes materially.

3. Estimates, approvals, and pricing

Estimates and on-site quotes are good-faith projections based on the information available at the time. Some jobs require parts or scope changes discovered once work is underway; where a change crosses your pre-authorized spending limit (or none is on file), we will not proceed without your approval — by portal, text, or a verbal OK recorded by our office. You may decline a part or scope change; declining may delay completion of that specific item.

4. Payment

Invoices are due per the terms stated on the invoice. We may send payment reminders by text and portal notification as an unpaid invoice ages. A deposit may be required before scheduled fabrication or installation work begins, disclosed on the estimate before you accept it.

5. Warranty

Installation and repair work carries the warranty coverage stated at the time of service (our current defaults: 6 months on new installs, 90 days on repair workmanship), viewable in your portal's Gate Health section. Warranty coverage does not extend to damage from misuse, unrelated failures, acts of nature, or modifications made by someone other than MTG.

6. Communications and SMS

We text you about your active jobs — scheduling, parts approvals needing your decision, and invoices — as a normal part of providing the Services; these transactional messages don't require a separate opt-in. We will only send promotional or marketing texts (special offers, maintenance-plan reminders unrelated to an open job, etc.) if you've separately opted in, and you can opt out at any time — reply STOP to any text, or use the consent control in your portal account. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information, and docs/reference/legal-notes.md in our engineering documentation for the call-recording disclosure used on our phone lines.

7. Account access

Customer portal accounts sign in via a one-time text link sent to the phone number on file; general contractor accounts sign in with an email and password. Keep your device and credentials secure — you're responsible for activity through your account.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Services change. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date; continued use of the Services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Contact

Questions about these Terms? Contact our office through the phone number or email on your invoice or portal account.
